Jennifer Chojnacki

July 2004

John Schlueter and Jennifer Chojnacki met during their sophomore year at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. Their relationship first started out as a crush, and then she asked him to her Halloween sorority dance. Although John and Jennifer are complete opposites, sparks flew and they have been together ever since. After college they went to Japan for a year to teach English, where their relationship was put to the "true test" living and working together in another country without and friends or family. They survived, and when they returned, John moved to Chicago to begin working towards his PhD. in English Literature at Loyola University. Jennifer began her current position at the Institute of Real Estate Management on Michigan Avenue within the International Programs Department.

John proposed to Jennifer in their apartment on July 25, 2003. He wanted it to be in a familiar place, but romantic. And it was! He lit candles, bought flowers and had music playing in the background. He got down on one knee, and that's about all she could remember, for she was weak in the knees and sobbing. After the proposal they celebrated with a dinner at National 27 in River North and later met with some friends in Lincoln Park to share their announcement. They now live in East Lakeview and anxiously await their "big day". Jennifer and John are having their ceremony in a Catholic Church in the South Suburbs and the reception will be held at the Grand Ballroom in Joliet Union station on June 24, 2005.

When Chicago Weddingpages contacted Jennifer and delivered the news that she had won a free dress from House of Brides she almost fell off her chair. She couldn't believe it, so Jennifer called everyone she knew to share the good news and calm herself down. She had not even planned to look for dresses until September, and now Jennifer was scheduled to visit House of Brides for her new gown within days. Jennifer's maid of honor was ecstatic since she has wanted to look for dresses since last year. So Jennifer brought her mother, grandmother, and maid of honor to help select the perfect gown at House of Brides. Upon their arrival at House of Brides Chicago location, they were greeted by Nidia, the consultant who was so sweet and helpful. After many dresses, Jennifer found "the perfect one" and she could not be happier with her choice. Jennifer said she couldn't be more grateful to Chicago Weddingpages and House of Brides and continued to utter the words "... Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
