I met a bride today visiting our salon for her wedding dress fitting. The bride had a beautiful pair of peep-toe platforms with a 3-1/2 inch heel. The shoes were the perfect match for her wedding dress. The bride, however, was not as good a match for the shoes.
Stumbling around the fitting room, the bride admitted she did not normally wear heels. I asked why she chose shoes she couldn’t walk in and she replied, “I think of all days, I should wear heels on my wedding day! And I think my wedding dress will look better”. This is a common and potentially painful misconception!
If you normally don’t heel-it, skip the stilettos and wear a heel height you’re already comfortable wearing. Your wedding is not the time to experiment with a new height. The wrong shoe can cause back and leg pain and a host of other foot problems. Remember…happy feet make a happy bride!
Also, heels won’t make your wedding dress better. Your wedding dress will look its best with the proper fit and the right undergarments!
The most beautiful bride is one who can walk down the aisle…not hobble!
Eva Buziecki's Bits: Protect your dress! Keep your shoes on throughout the entire wedding. Your dress will be hemmed to your heel height. Without your shoes, your wedding dress will drag on the floor and get dirty, even torn!
