If you haven’t heard, Filene’s Basement recently announced the closing of its 21 locations in 2012.

 

The retail chain includes the downtown Chicago store on State Street. The store is well known for its annual “Running of the Brides” event where wedding dresses are deeply discounted. The event has become a tradition with brides camping outside of the department store for days before to buy their dream dress.

 

House of Brides is looking to appeal to “Running of the Brides” and budget conscious customers.
