Impression Bridals for Fall 2010

clock August 26, 2010 16:40 by author Eva Buziecki

Impression Bridal is a favorite designer wedding dress collection of ours. So we were super excited to see the new Fall 2010 styles. We can’t wait to see our Brides in these dresses! Here’s some of our absolute “loves”!

{Impression Style No. Flora 3087}

A perfect Princess wedding dress! The gown features a light layer of accordion pleated Tulle over embroidered flowers.

{Impression Style No. Freda 3092}

3-dimensional flowers adorn the bodice and the front and back of the skirt.

{Impression Style No. Freya 3100}

This is a spotlight dress! Not much beading but so much drama!

Eva Buziecki's Bits: Always experiment with style. Try-on different looks to find your perfect dress. Many Brides end-up buying a dress completely different from what they imagined!

The New Silhouette

clock August 25, 2010 13:37 by author Eva Buziecki

Checkout the new bridal silhouette popping-up in designer Fall collections…the double-pouf skirt! The double pouf skirt combines a fuller skirt with a slimmer style for a completely modern look.

We love Impression style 3091. The proportions are perfect and dazzling crystals accent the neckline and skirt.

Eva Buziecki's Bits: Balance the double-pouf skirt with a simple bodice. Look for a strapless neckline or spaghetti strapped bodice. Keeping the top simple will keep the dress from looking like “too much”.

Now Showing, Bill Levkoff Fall 2010

clock August 18, 2010 11:40 by author Eva Buziecki

House of Brides premiered the Bill Levkoff Fall 2010 bridesmaid collection. We love the designer line of over 20 bridesmaid dresses. We especially love the 4 key style trends Bill Levkoff features in the Fall collection!

One Shoulder

One-shoulder necklines have been popular for wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses for the past few seasons. Bill Levkoff updates the look with detailed straps. Check-out style 675. The one shoulder strap loops over the shoulder and comes to a dramatic back sash.

Empire Waist

An empire waist is easy to wear no matter what your size. Bill Levkoff adds soft gathers at the waist for extra fullness and flow! We love style 680. The band and bow finish the dress and accentuates the waist.

Cocktail Length

Shorten-up your hemline and lengthen your dress’ wear-ability! Cocktail length dresses are simple to wear again after the wedding. Bill Levkoff style 682 also has side pockets for extra functionality!

3-D Flowers

3-D flowers on the bodice, straps, or skirt are a beautiful accent. The flowers can make even the simplest style look rich. We adore Bill Levkoff style 688! The 3-D flowers on the skirt give the dress a super flirty feel.

Eva Buziecki's Bits: Bill Levkoff offers an amazing array of colors. Explore all the color options for your bridesmaid party!

Style Tip: Wear the Right Shoe!

clock July 21, 2010 15:04 by author Eva Buziecki

I met a bride today visiting our salon for her wedding dress fitting. The bride had a beautiful pair of peep-toe platforms with a 3-1/2 inch heel. The shoes were the perfect match for her wedding dress. The bride, however, was not as good a match for the shoes.

Stumbling around the fitting room, the bride admitted she did not normally wear heels. I asked why she chose shoes she couldn’t walk in and she replied, “I think of all days, I should wear heels on my wedding day!  And I think my wedding dress will look better”. This is a common and potentially painful misconception!

If you normally don’t heel-it, skip the stilettos and wear a heel height you’re already comfortable wearing. Your wedding is not the time to experiment with a new height. The wrong shoe can cause back and leg pain and a host of other foot problems. Remember…happy feet make a happy bride!

Also, heels won’t make your wedding dress better. Your wedding dress will look its best with the proper fit and the right undergarments!

The most beautiful bride is one who can walk down the aisle…not hobble!

Eva Buziecki's Bits: Protect your dress! Keep your shoes on throughout the entire wedding. Your dress will be hemmed to your heel height. Without your shoes, your wedding dress will drag on the floor and get dirty, even torn!
